After the January 2011 annual Population Forums entitled "Qualicum School District, Facilities Review, Information Sessions (QSDFRIS)" the President of the Sunrise Chapter of the Rotary Club, David Lavalley, wrote:

Regarding an April 2011 presentation to the Town of Qualicum Beach "introducing and providing information on population change, factors influencing migration by broad age group and enrolment in the School District", the Corporate Administrator, Trudy Coates, wrote:
